Making Credit Card Payments

CM/ECF participants who file documents that require payment of a filing fee must pay the fee via CM/ECF using a credit card.  Participants who fail to pay fees due will 1) receive an email at the end of each day containing a list of fees due, and 2) will be locked out of CM/ECF if a filing fee is not paid within 3 calendar days of the date the fee is incurred. Participants who are locked out may login to CM/ECF to pay their fees. However, if they login and fail to pay any fee that is three or more days old they will not be able to continue filing.

IMPORTANT: To facilitate making payments by credit card CM/ECF participants must turn off the pop-up blocker in their browser.

PAYMENT OF FEE IMMEDIATELY AFTER FILING A DOCUMENT

Immediately following the filing of a document for which there is a filing fee the following screen will display. Participants may click CONTINUE FILING or click PAY NOW and take the following steps to pay the filing fee.

STEP 1 Click [PAY NOW]

STEP 2 Click [SELECT ALL] or place a check in the box next to the fee(s) you are paying

STEP 3 Click [PAY NOW]

STEP 4 Enter your credit card information; click [CONTINUE WITH PLATIC CARD PAYMENT]

STEP 5 Payment authorization screen displays; confirm payment information; place a check in the box next to “I authorize a charge to my credit card account for the above amount in accordance with my credit card issuer agreement.” Click [SUBMIT PAYMENT]

TIP - You may enter your email address on this screen to receive an email confirmation of the transaction

STEP 6 Payment confirmation screen displays. You may print a receipt from this screen.

TIP - To save an electronic copy of the receipt select Adobe PDF as your printer on the Print window as shown below:

PAYMENT OF FILINGS FEE(S) DURING LOGIN TO CM/ECF

Each time a participant who has outstanding fees due logs into CM/ECF a screen will display containing details regarding each fee that is due as shown below:

To make payments from this screen click PAY NOW and take the steps outlined below.

STEP 1 Click [PAY NOW]

STEP 2 Click [SELECT ALL] or place a check in the box next to each fee you are going to pay; click [NEXT]
