CM/ECF Preview Available

From the Clerk of Court:

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey is actively working behind the scenes to implement its new Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system. When implemented, CM/ECF will allow attorneys to electronically file documents with the court, receive electronic notice of documents filed, and view both docket information and actual case documents through the Internet using a standard web browser.

Although no firm "live" date has been set, our current target is to make the system available to attorneys in April of 2002. As we approach the live date, an announcement will be sent to attorneys inviting their participation. Attorneys who register to use CM/ECF (and their designated staff) will receive training from the court prior to using the live system.

In the meantime, you are welcome to view the CM/ECF preview. The preview uses simulated CM/ECF screens and functionality to introduce you to systems basics. Although details will undoubtedly be different in the actual working version, the preview will familiarize you with such CM/ECF concepts as user authentication, preparation and filing of electronic documents, etc.
