On March 12, 2020 the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey issued a Notice to the Public restricting access to the courthouses based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) having advised people to take precautions in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.  Consistent with the Notice to the Public and per direction from the United States Trustee, chapter 7, 12, and 13 trustees will accommodate debtors’ reasonable requests for continuances of section 341 meetings that are related to the COVID-19 outbreak.  See https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html.

Unless otherwise provided by the trustee, debtors who seek an adjournment must file the required rescheduling notice with the court, provide notice to creditors, and stipulate to the extension of related deadlines.

Debtors also may seek other alternative meeting arrangements by contacting the trustee.
